Shanghai – rules and how to play
Shanghai is played over several rounds. In each round a different number is the target, and only hits on that number score. The player with the most points at the end wins – or whoever throws a Shanghai.
How it is played
- Round 1 has the target number 1, round 2 the 2 and so on up to the last round, 7 by default.
- Each player throws 3 darts per round.
- Only hits on the target number count: a single once, a double twice, a triple three times.
- All other hits and misses score nothing.
Key rules and variants
- Shanghai: if you hit a single, a double and a triple of the same target number in one visit (in any order), you win the game immediately.
- Example: target number 5, single 5 + double 5 + triple 5 = 5 + 10 + 15 = 30 points and a Shanghai.
- Without the instant win the points of a Shanghai simply count, and the total score decides at the end.
