Checkout-Training – rules and how to play

Checkout-Training practises finishing. In every round all players get the same remaining score and try to take it to exactly 0 with three darts or fewer. The player with the most checkouts wins.

How it is played

  • Each player gets one attempt of up to 3 darts per target.
  • With double out the last dart must be a double or the bullseye, with master out a triple works too.
  • The attempt is lost if you score more than you have, are left on 1, reach 0 without a valid last dart or are not finished after three darts.
  • Then the next player is up. Once everyone has thrown, the next target follows.

Key rules and variants

  • Random mode: the app draws solvable numbers from the range you set, 2 to 170. Numbers that cannot be checked out in three darts never come up.
  • List mode: the fixed list 40, 32, 64, 81, 100, 121 and 170 is played in order.
  • After the last target the player with the most checkouts wins, with ties going to whoever needed fewer darts.
  • Played alone, the app announces at the end how many checkouts you made.

Playing it in DartEyeQ

In DartEyeQ you set the number of targets, the number range, list mode and master out. If you like, the player card shows the checkout suggestion, for example T20 T20 D20, as in X01. Checkout-Training is a one-time in-app purchase.
